With long lives and millions of slights and conversations and the heavy weight of history, Cybertronians have much to reminisce about. Memories can paralyze as much as they can catalyze decisions, sicken as well as comfort. Some memories are forgotten: willingly, accidentally, or even by force. History can also show how the present came to be. How will Megatron and Ratchet confront their memories?

Love can come in many forms from stereotypically romantic to familial to platonic among many other forms. Whether love is quick, fleeting, or grows slowly and remains steady or unreciprocated or hidden or the myriad of ways it can be shown from actions to words, don't be afraid to explore how broad "love" can be. What challenges will the notion of love bring?

Endings come in all sorts of shapes, whether they be small like the end of a week or a long day, or major like shifts in society, changes in one's personal life such as jobs and relationships, or even death. What endings will Megatron and Ratchet confront?

October's theme is "horror," in honor of the time of year when many cultures indulge in all things scary.

No need to limit to Halloween-esque fills (unless you want to!). Anything the explores horror is welcome, whether that's making fun of horror tropes or deeply diving into what could be horrific for long-lived alien robot: body horror, psychological horror, the unknowns of the universe or simply the monster stalking behind you in the dark or even the monster inside of you. August's theme is "heat," in honor of the boiling hot weather that many parts of the world experience at this time of year.

By popular demand, we are opening up a brainstorming post for the community to better facilitate discussion and the flow of ideas for users.

This post will be one of the two pinned posts on the community in order to keep it easy to find.

Are you looking for prompts to inspire your MegaRatch works? We wanted to let you know about prompt resources available on Dreamwidth.

fandomweekly hosts multifandom fic prompt challenges every week for fics 1000 words or shorter. A handful of the prompts have already been used to create MegaRatch and other Transformer pieces in the past. Right now they're hosting an "amnesty week" where all 200+ prompts are once more on the table.

tf_rare_pairing hosts various theme prompts and events for any TF rare pairing and fanwork type. Like fandomweekly, some of these prompts have also inspired MegaRatch works. They just recently hosted a two week Rare Pair Fest.

fan_flashworks hosts multifandom prompt challenges for any fanwork type every ten days or so (3 each month). A new challenge just posted yesterday. Recommended by wickedlittletown 

ficlet_zone hosts monthly multifandom fic prompt challenges for fics of any length. Prompts do not have any deadlines and are based on episode titles and song titles. Recommended by wickedlittletown
